Week 5: Facebook Post Reach vs. Engagement

It is all about sharing a message.

Simply put, on Facebook, Post Reach is how many people see (view) your post.

Taking this one step further, Post Engagement is how people interact with your post.  This includes, clicking on the post to read more, adding a comment, like the post and the golden gift—a share (letting others in their FB network learn about your post), for an exponential increase in reach!

The difference between reach and engagement is important as the later can multiply the number of  people learning about your Facebook page.  It would be quite useful to think about what your posts are about and how the reach and engagement differ between posts.  Then one can use what works best and repeat it.  This is all free, not paid ads.

Facebook Insights apply to paid advertising to reach specific market segments.  Then one would reach exactly whom they want and there is little waste (reaching more and untargeted people than you really need to).  From the insights, you can also gain an idea of how large the target segments are.  You can also choose different geographies or targets to start and add others in to test your messages or vary them for different markets.

I had the pleasure of viewing and commented on the following classmates' Facebook pages:

Kelly Zimbelmann

Heather Williams

Karin O’Brien

Casey Judge

Isabella Brown

I would like to learn more about how to add a questionnaire, appointment bookings and videos.

I am looking forward to posting more info on my Facebook page and seeing what others are up to!

Week 1A:  Let's get blogging This is my first go at creating a blog and posting to it so that you will be interested in reading it and coming back for more information.  Therefore, let’s start at the beginning; choosing a theme to entice you.   Here are the reasons I chose the Notable theme:   1.      This theme is  notable  as an extension of my personality, primarily striving for organized minimalism.  I want to present you with information to quickly  grasp without clutter on your screen.  As a fellow achiever, I’d like to help you comfortably reach your goal of grasping all the information in one full swoop.     2.     This theme is  notable   for a purposeful format with one section of text with one photo.  You can chose to digest each morsel by reading the text or by looking a picture (quietly speaking a thousand words).   Once I learn how to format the phot...

Week 4 A: Working on Your Business and Your Target Market

T his week I compare two businesses in the same industry to differentiate between their target audiences based on the design of their websites.  Here are my findings: Rancho Vista Nursery: Initial thoughts:  Beautiful, thriving plants are shown.  Next to which is a blank farmshop from 2018.  Is this what it looks like today?  Why is that photo there?  It looks like they did not update their site,  I may have chosen a faint plant background to envelop the visitor and draw them in.  This theme looks a little disjointed.  The zig zag edges on the photo connotate sewing, not planting to me.  Is about us a link or is this one paragraph all they will tell me.  What an opportunity to showcase the people that work there since they have been in business for 40 years.  Maybe each person specializes in something and I would like to connect with them?  Good, they have an inte...

Week Ten Newsletters--Blog Post One

I think it would be helpful and appropriate to send a monthly newsletter.     As I reach new customers that are at different stages of their recovery and seasons or holidays are good themes to tie into.     Plus, the “woman” power to write it would be comfortable on this timetable.   I am not on an email list for my competitors, but thanks to this class, I will check them out and sign up to learn about what they are doing.     The content my business could use is information about the breast cancer journey, the process of reconstructive surgery, recovery and how patients get through it.   I can also include the fashion part of the business; fibers, manufacturing process, zippers used, colors chosen, fit and laundering.  In addition, customer feedback can be welcome content. Communicatively, Marla Hope
